Mission Statement
As children we are safe, happy and cared for. We are listened to, supported and valued. We work together openly and look after each other.

We are free to learn about things which interest us and which we enjoy,
and we gain skills we need for life. We respect people, places and
property and
we are given time to think and to reflect.

We believe and we achieve.

We are introducing Restorative Practice into the school this term.

This approach focuses on resolving conflicts at the earliest possible stage, seeking to avoid blame
and supporting people to take responsibility for finding a constructive solution to issues.
It encourages effective communication and working towards positive outcomes.

Further information can be found at http://www.cypswansea.co.uk/index.cfm?articleid=40835

We are also now embedding practice in school with regard to the UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child).  The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is an international agreement that 192 countries worldwide, including the United Kingdom , have signed up to. The Convention gives all children and young people under the age of 18 years old their own set of rights or “articles”. The Welsh Assembly Government takes the UNCRC very seriously.

We are also delighted that the Welsh Government has chosen to consult with the children of Glyncollen Primary School as part of their consultation on the Children’s Scheme. This important document will set out the regulations which ensure that the UNCRC is delivered. The Results of Consultation with Children and Young People document is now available and our school is featured heavily in this, one of only seven schools invited to be part of the process in Wales . I could not be more proud of them. You can see the document for yourself at:
